Clothes, handicrafts, labelled spices, sealed snacks, and cooking oil and honey in small sealed bottles are accepted. Meat and dairy, including ghee, cannot be sent to the UK from outside the EU. Medicine needs a prescription and the purchase bill, up to a 3-month supply.

Sending gifts to Japan

Labelled achar such as mango achar and timur chhop, packaged spices and snacks are accepted, and ghee, oil and honey can go in small labelled bottles for Rs. 500 extra per bottle. Japan does not accept rice, fresh vegetables, coconut, meat products or any jewellery, including imitation jewellery.

Sending gifts to Australia

Australia has some of the strictest biosecurity rules in the world, so we do not accept any food for Australia, labelled or not. Clothes, shoes with no soil, bags, documents and artificial jewellery are the best gifts. Wooden and bamboo handicrafts must be clean and may be inspected.

Sending gifts to Dubai and the UAE

Labelled, packaged food and spices, labelled ghee in a sealed container, clothes, shoes, cosmetics and artificial jewellery are accepted. Perfume, unlabelled or homemade food and anything with a battery are not accepted.

Sending gifts to South Korea

Labelled food, snacks and spices, clothes, shoes, non-flammable cosmetics and artificial jewellery are accepted. A copy of the receiver's passport is required for every booking. Meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, and flammable items are not accepted.

Sending gifts to India

Labelled and packaged food and spices, clothes, shoes, bags, handicrafts and artificial jewellery are accepted. Parcels go by road and take 10–15 days. Power banks, phones, perfume, gold, silver and meat products such as sukuti are not accepted.

How to Pack Gifts Safely Before You Send Them Abroad

4. Pack clothes flat. Folded clothes fill gaps, protect other items and keep the weight even.
5. Write the address clearly. Include the receiver's full name, address, postcode and phone number on a note inside the box as well.

What to Write on the Customs Declaration

Every time you send gifts abroad from Nepal, the parcel travels with a customs declaration. Our team fills it in for you, but you need to give us the right details:

Customs Duty on Gifts from Nepal

• UK: according to GOV.UK, gifts worth £39 or less are free of VAT, and customs duty applies to gifts worth more than £135.
